Common Installation Errors

Trying to install, but somethings not quite working? Lets help.

Podcrash+ isn’t working as a forge mod!

A common misconception is that Podcrash+ is a forge mod. Podcrash+ is completely independent of any mod API such as Liteloader and Forge, and all you need to do is run the .jar file to open up our installer which does all the work for you.

My Togglesprint is bugged!

Make sure you’re not using any other Togglesprint Mod (f.e. OrangeSimpleMod, ToggleSneak) or LabyModv2.

I keep crashing!

Make sure you aren’t installing over LabyMod3, due to an update by LabyMod support for their mod has been broken and we are unable to offer a fix for this, please contact LabyMod support or contact our support team on discord for a list of alternative mods to use instead of LabyMod

I can’t open the .jar I downloaded!

Your machine probably isn’t using Java to run the jar, and is trying to run it with something else. First, make sure you have Java installed. You can check this by going into your system settings and verifying that a ‘Java’ application is there (Windows: Control Panel->Java, OSX: System Preferences->Java, *nix: Terminal->java -version).

If Java is not present, install Java from here or using a package manager such as aptitude or pacman with the address default-jre.
Java is present and you are on windows, can run this application Download here to fix your problem.
After running that, try re-running the Podcrash+ installer jar. It should open fine.

If you are on OSX, first put the .jar file in your Downloads, or another folder which you know. Go to your Applications and run Terminal. Then, in Terminal, type the following then hit enter:
java -jar ./Downloads/Podcrash+_b1.4-Installer.jar

If it says something along the lines of Java is not installed, rerun the installer linked above.
If you put the .jar file in a directory that is different from Downloads, change the Downloads to whatever folder you put it in.
On *nix systems such as Linux and Solaris, go to Terminal and run chmod +rwx ./Downloads/Podcrash+_b1.4-Installer.jar (assuming the .jar is in your Downloads and you are running from ~), then run java -jar ./Downloads/Podcrash+_b1.4-Installer.jar.

Internet explorer is opening the jar and it just keeps redownloading itself!

Your machine probably isn’t using Java to run the jar, download and run this application: Download here

After running that, try re-running the Podcrash+ installer jar. It should open fine.

Want to know what data we handle, how we handle it, here’s the place.

How does the screenshot feature work?

All Podcrash+ staff members can screenshot your minecraft client whilst you are in-game, they do not have direct access to your PC, this is done remotely by sending a request to our server and the server will take the screenshot, upload it to imgur then send that link to the staff member.

The screenshot feature can only screenshot your minecraft client.

What is the authentication server?

We use our own private authentication servers to ensure you are running the mod and to ensure that you aren’t cheating during competitive games.

How does the in-game chat work

The in-game chat (IRC) is provided by Mibbit, we do not control any of the data sent or received from the IRC, we just display it in-game.

You can read more about their privacy policy and how they handle data on their website.

Do Staff members or Developers have access to my IP?

No staff has access to your IP or any personal data, and only a select few trusted developers can access the authentication server, where we log connections of players, however whilst we can see IP’s connecting to our server, however, we do not match the IP to a player record and therefore cannot tell who’s IP belongs to who.

What data does the website store?

Like any website, we do track what you do whilst on our website, which pages you view, how long you view it, which website referred you etc, all of this data is anonymous and we do not record anything specific to you or your computer.
